Subject	Aviation fuel?

Message	Five months now and I'm stilling waiting for my f^$#cking ttz. Anyways, the new pistons are in, the valve job is complete, rings, gaskets, and belts brand new. The heads are on as well as the air intake. If only my mechanic would just drop the dam engine in. Good guy, but a lazy son of a bitch. Oh well I guess I can't complain, including parts he did the whole job for $2300. Anyways the car is supposed to be ready by Monday. Please god let it be true. Sorry for all this rambling but I do I have one question. On the topic of fuel my mechanic recommends that when I race I use fifty percent aviation fuel and fifty percent Superunleaded. Since I'm still learning a great deal about performance cars I just want to know, is this a good idea and what octane might this aviation fuel be? Thanks for the input, sorry if it's a dumb question.
