Driving to work on Friday, happy it's Friday....
As I come down off the freeway into downtown there's an intersection... I have the green light... As I enter the intersection, a golden blur appears from behind a car stopped at the light to the left... There a horrific crash, spinning, curb, telephone pole, stoplight pole, then silence.... look down car's still running (racing does help you remember to put your feet on the clutch and brake in a crash) turn it off, do a personal systems check, everthing seems to be working.... driver's door has a strange inward bow as it's pressed firmly against the driver's seat... and won't open... driver door glass is gone... too much glass to crawl out that way... unbuckle seat belt and crawl over hump towards passenger door, door sticks but opens with some persuasion... sit on passenger sill for a few minutes collecting myself and trying not to kill the IDIOT who ran the red light and hit me.... by that time there's a few people who saw the accident and have come over to check on me... I'm ok, so is the other guy... I walk around the car.. front tires point in opposite directions, intercoolers torn from the car, the whole left side of the car is caved in, the right front found the telephone pole, and the whole front suspension is trashed from hitting the curb head on... passenger door doesn't close quite right anymore... I begin to have a sinking feeling about my beautiful purple car...
The ambulance comes and goes, the police show up and start writing tickets to the other guy... NO INSURANCE!, running the red light, etc, etc... went to the body shop today to say goodbye to her and clean out my stuff... I'll miss her!Anyone know where I can find another purple '95 turbo? Later,
