Let it be known that I've driven many a TTZ before. I had driven half a dozen when I was looking for a Z in 98 but settled on the NA for various reasons. I've also had the pleasure to drive Zo's car and a few others here and there. That being said, it's a whole different experience driving my OWN...for a long period of time. As cliche as it is and even though hundreds of people have told me so, I can't believe I could even live with the NA after driving this car for two solid days. Sure, that car rocked overall...but I really could care if my flip up screen is there or not when that boost kicks in. Needless to say, gas mileage has sucked since I've been on the throttle so much. I've had a permanent shit-eating-grin for the last 48 hours! The list of things I miss from my old Z is quite short and can be summed up with: A) The 4 speed fan B) The airbag Yes, that's it. Pretty minor, eh? =) Amazingly I've only had one challenge in two days whereas I used to get a half dozen in that amount of time. The first day I swore I wouldn't race anything given I had to get used to the car. Tonight I was crusing home at 1am with no one on the road when I had those distinct Mustang headlights behind me...only there were two round fogs below it. Sweet...a Cobra (98 style with only 305). I have no idea what boost this car is running (unknown boost jet size with JWT chip and an inaccurate boost gauge) but I decided to go for it. Needless to say, I obliterated him. 70-130 came like a flash of lightning. Sure, not the fastest thing on the road...but something I had long been waiting to do given all the damn Mustangs in my town. Felt good, the "dirty" kind of good. So anyway...to those wondering if I'm going to go crazy now...the answer is no. I'll slap on a boost controller, timer and Greg's DP/TP combo and probably leave it at that. Plenty of power for a daily car...I don't need to handle any Vipers (though I'll drop the hammer on any C5 the instant one wants to go). From there, I'll wait a while...no desire for anything bigger really and I have brand new turbos to wreck! I'll probably eat those words in a year...but I'm sticking to em now ;) Thanks to all who pushed me. Here's a quick pic from today. It needs a wax BAD and haven't switched over the tails, coilovers, etc yet. The B&B is in the near future.
