Message The speed of light (c) never "slowed down" when passing through the other medium. Speed of light is indeed constant (as referenced by another poster) according the Einstein.

Furthermore, according to relativity, on a plane (let's say x prime), the perceived speed of light could be different that to my primary plane (x). Therefore, on your plane (x prime), the perceived speed of light may be different. Take a look at Einstein's General Theory. There are also some equations stating the different mathematics. He uses analogies of a train, a rider in the train, and an observer to the train (outside of the tracks) to give it a more laymans description.

With that said, it never has to "speed back up" after exiting a denser medium. Einstein also postulates that light can not exceed it's own speed. I bring this up because I think another poster was talking about rotations speed (the rotational speed at the edge of person's fingertips is indeed different than the trunk of a person if spinning on a chair, but light does not have differing speeds in this example).

My .02,
Chris.
