Do not use baby oil - it weakens leather

Baby oil conditions your fine leather shoes. All you have to do is rub a little into the leather at night and buff it off in the morning.

THINK ABOUT IT! vinyl and plastic are petroleum based materials, you preserve a product by rejuvinating spelling?) it's original properties. Sillicone is impervious to petroleum hence the use of it on gaskets, If you apply a sealant to a porous surface, it can't breathe and you will kill it, just like placing a plastic tarp over your paint or a plastic bag over your face. Yeah, I know....WISE A ..!!
HOWEVER, I did not recomend oil products on your seats, only your tires. I use NO dressing of ANY kind on my interior, I am sure the Pledge works the same as glass cleaner or 409 with the addition of moisterizer which works on wood and would be better than sillicone. If you INSIST on "lubing up" your seats for that slippery feel, Saddle Soap is acceptable as is Johnson's Baby Oil or Lexol leather conditioner but these will still shorten the life.

nixit: why not baseball glove oil?
