Message logik started a new thread elsewhere in this forum to draw attention away from this thread, where people haven't been to kind to him. In that separate thread, logik chose to respond to me.

Accordingly, I am reposting my reply to him there, here in this thread, so you can follow it.

--------------------------------------------

Logik:

Nice try. The bottom line is that you know damn well that your friend Vinny (poom) bought the car from me, after you scared away all of the other buyers with your lies about my car. Stop the B.S. about "when I find out who bought this car..." - you know who bought it. All of the evidence here points to it.

Logik, do you deny being friends with a guy in Pittsburgh that is 20 years old, named Vinny, who just bought my Z?

By the way, if what you say about my car is true, you would have taken pictures of my car all of those times you claim you drove by the car. Why can't you produce pictures of what you claim?

My pictures are current, show odometer readings and license plate stickers with an expiration of 5/03. My photos are high resolution (4 megapixel), you can see everything. I personally spoke to all buyers that were interested, and I sent copies of the CARFAX and VIN.

As far as the price goes, maybe I am a naive seller, but I used the NADA blue book used car retail price. Since I am not a big Z pro or major enthusiast, and nor do I spend much time on this site, I picked that price based on what was fair and on past practices in selling a used car. I was just learning from members here at TwinTurbo.net that the car was worth a lot more, but you put an end to that.

Furthermore, for better or for worse, I have sold the car. Accordingly, I have no reason to maked up this whole situation at this point, and I wouldn't waste time just to flame someone I don't know. I just want to warn people about what you pulled, and that they need to see things with their own eyes when they buy.

Logik, I understand that you wanted to help your friend Vinny get my car. The damage is done, I am cooling off, and trying to get back to my life here.

Ultimately, people will read these threads and make their own call on this situation. I just hope that people will use this whole situation to carefully evaluate posts about a car's condition - either positive or negative - and then personally inspect the car before walking away from it, or buying.

Unlike logik, I use my real name here, and have provided my phone number in my profile. I invite any member of TwinTurbo.net to call me or e-mail me about this. Even you, logik - I'm even willing to get together face-to-face with you, seeing as we're both in Pittsburgh.

: Just wanted you all to be aware of something that happened to me today regarding my Z.

: I found out that I - and potential buyers of my Z that was advertised in the classifieds here - have been scammed by TwinTurbo.NET user "logik", and that I wound up selling the car to the logik's friend this morning.

: I had posted a 91TT 300XZ for sale, with pictures, on TwinTurbo.net on 8/15 and 8/17 (user dcohen). Prior to that, I had a local buyer Vinny look at it from an ad I placed in the local paper, in Pittsburgh where I and the car live. Vinny, who who really wanted the car, originally couldn't come up with the money.

: Coincidentally, when Vinny visited, Vinny had mentioned to me that he has a friend who runs the web site "TwinTurbo.org" in Pittsburgh. You'll understand the importance of this later.

: I had a lot of interest from TwinTurbo.net users in my Z, which is exactly as was advertised - a 1991 TT with less tahn 46K miles for $11,200 (book value). I also included a link to over 30 high resolution digital photos. These buyers will tell you that I was prompt and responsive to their questions and requests.

: I found out today from one of my buyers that “someone” managed to get my "for sale" post removed from the Classifieds through the member voting process. I also found out from a potential buyer that a member of twinturbo.net, "logik@twinturbo.org", had posted false and misleading comments about my car to discourage other buyers from bidding on my car.

: Apparently, "logik" had initiated a thread discrediting my ad, saying he saw the car, and that "it was in horrible condition, the photos are 10 years old, and that black smoke was pouring out of the exhaust". I saw this thread and turned white with horror that someone would do something like this.

: Obviously, "logik@twinturbo.org" is in fact the friend of the Pittsburgh buyer, Vinny. I visited the http://www.twinturbo.net/net/viewmsg.aspx?forum=general&msg_id=646928

: The actual thread initiated by logik, with the false negative comments, has already been deleted by logik, as he now knows I am on to him, but here is the thread ID anyway so maybe you can look it up in archives: http://www.twinturbo.net/net/viewmsg.aspx?forum=general&msg_id=645778

: From my cache, I did manage to get a PDF snapshot of the thread, which shows that "logik" initiated a "don't bother with dcohen TTZ" thread, unsolicited, in TwinTurbo.net.

: Because my TwinTurbo.net buyers got nervous and either slowed down or backed off, and I didn't know I was scammed at the time, I wound up selling the car to Vinny this morning, logik's friend, at a lower price.

: I was scammed, and I am mad. The sad part is, in addition to me selling at a lower price than I could have got, other decent TwinTurbo.net members were deprived of the opportunity to get a great TT.

: There's not much I can do at this point, the car is sold to scammer logik's friend Vinny (“Poom”) and the title is transfered. I just want you all to know that this kind of thing happens, and that this "logik" has done something in violation of the spirit of this great web site. Please be careful when reviewing discussions or comments from people about people’s cars – positive or negative – and go see the car yourself before you buy.

: Dan
