kilobaud would be a (useless) indicator of signal state changes that would be, in binary communications, a higher number then kilobytes per second because it would include overhead and such.... in non binary communications the kilobaud per sec could be significantly lower then the bps...
in any event kilobaud is a term best avoided unless you are SURE you mean it.
