Most cable providers will let you have up to 1.5megs a second (1 meg = 1000k). I'm not sure why yours is limiting you .. but if that's your only option you can look at it as you will still be surfing 9 X faster then you would if you were dialup (and connected at 56k). I'd call and see what speed you would qualify for if you got DSL. If it's faster, go with it. If not, stick with Cable. People only say cable is better because usually they will let you burst up to 1.5megs + (sometimes up to DS3 level). Since your cable provider is limiting you, it really doesn't make it any better then being locked into a rate for DSL. Later,
