you can have everything hooked up, but the bottle must be empty on the street. if you get caught with any nitrous in your car, the police may charge you with possesion of a controlled substance, because after all, it IS a controlled substance. If anybody needs law enforcement references, my brother-in-law works for the CHP and my father is a retired officer. both of them on separate occasions have told me horror stories of gung-ho cops getting the DA to nail ppl to the wall for nitrous. after all what would keep a drug dealer from legally using a nos bottle in their car to distribute laughing gas in parking lots at raves and other popular "social" events where that type of activity is proven to be a common occurence. As with everything there are exceptions to the rule. when it comes down to it, the decision to sanction or not to sanction is in the hands of officer. I hope this helps!
