Message If one of the cars ran a 13.7 at a significantly higher trap speed than the rest, then there's a good chance that the car is a ringer or a factory freak. A higher trap speed would indicate more HP.

But if the trap speed was the same and only the ET was better, then you just have a good driver who can launch the car well.

For instance, my trap speed lately has been around 108 mph, and my best ET came when my car was a little out of tune and ran 107.4 mph. That would indicate that on that run, the average HP output was lower than on my other runs. But my 60 foot time on that run was 2.0, which is my best launch to date. My highest trap speed was 108.6, meaning my HP output was higher on that run. But on that run I had a crappy 2.2 60 foot time and my ET was 13.4

Trap speed tells the tale of how much HP you have, the ET takes launch and power into consideration.
