So I am rolling down mayfield road here in cleveland with some traffic and I see a car darting back and forth with HID's trying to get up to me. He gets a break in traffic and passes me... a mint condition 1995 or so Merc SL500 with AMG badging. Now ofcourse this was not the full AMG package, but seeing as how he had stock wheels I assume there were some AMG parts under the hood. I hope there aren't too many ricers driving SL500's putting fake badging on the car. Anyway he hits a red light and I am able to get up next to him. He doesnt look over.. which is wierd cause it seemed like he wanted to get down earlier so I start getting his attention and he looks over. I complement the car. I ask if he wants a run. He looks around and says "sure!". I'm like alright then!! The light turns green and my stupid ass looks over at him to see if he will go then he just guns it. So I had about a 1.5 second delay but as we went thru 1st and 2nd, i was stuck to him. His engine was SCREAMING at the last 500 or so RPM before shifting (he had auto tranny btw). By the end of 2nd I was moving up inch by inch. If we hit third.. It felt like I would have pulled on him but those cars put some decent numbers down so I'm not sure. Especially if its modified. But we had to shut down around 60mph. It was cool to atleast run with that car and not get embarassed though! I'm sure it looked sweet from outside with the Merc with the top down and my t-tops off racing. We gave each other thumbs up and that was it. He was in his late 20's. thats it! I'm done!
