Message	I was looking at getting one for my wife. But, we looked at a 98 with 130K miles, there was a lot of noise in the valve area. ANd it sounded like grinding noise. Then I looked at a 99 with 29K miles, and guess what? Same thing exactly! I was thinking, how can that happen with a 30K mile Audi. I talked to a guy with the 2.8 and he said that when he was buying it, he test drove the 1.8T. The turbo was fast, but the top end on the 6 cyl was better so he got the 2.8 Also, a friend of mine in Oklahoma told me that another friend of mine bought a 2.8 with like 75K miles. second week of driving the oil pump failed, and it was a MESS. He fixed it, but does not want to tell how much. So I decided to stay away from the 2.8 engine. I thought that helps a bit. George(www.boostsolutionsinc.net)
