Slip box design done correctly wont have the issues you speak of and be much cheaper. : do a search on the Stillen a-arms and you can find many examples of the Stillen slip-box a-arms collapsing under use. The only thing preventing slip-box style a-arms from collapsing is the tension/friction between 4 bolts and the housing, and the front a-arms can encounter hundreds or even thousands of pounds of stress...
: The only reliable design currently available are the Midori front a-arms, which cost $600+. Our design is similar, any load will be applied against a 1" thick threaded rod along its axis, not 4 bolts tightened against a housing. In fact an engineer with alot of experience working with suspension pieces for GM did the design verication for us using finite element analysis, and we are confident this design has a big safety factor. We will also be testing the a-arms on several cars under real road-course/autocross conditions before we start the GB...
