I was giving viable alternative to ways of producing or gathering hydrogen. Just because it has not been done yet does not mean it will not work. What do you think ppl said about going to the moon? There are new solar cells that are cheap but inefficient and built on a plastic substrate. And like I said you use a large array of low efficiency ones since there is no area concern like the roof of your house. And who cares about the oxygen produced??? Vent it to the atmosphere, where's the big problem with that? Of course it may be cheaper to use hydrocarbons as the source for hydrogen, but that was not what the post was about, it was about when there are no more hydrocarbons to use. And your patronizing caw fart thing is just that. Don't be so ignorant. Of course there is no good way to capture that methane, but an earth covered waste site that is decomposing presents a viable way to pipe of the gasses produced. And I didn't say you would be able to use the gasses straight up, of course you are going to have to process them and compress them etc anyway, so filtering out the other stuff is just small change in the scheme of things. Some ppl dream, some ppl have visions of what could be, others just like to shoot their mouths off..... PS: yes I've priced solar cells before, yes I've experimented with them, made small electric cars from then, etc. And yes, I could run the numbers if I want, I'm an engineer, that's what I do.....
