but fuel companies buy the patents and keep them on the shelf. My chemistry teacher in highschool had a friend that was a professor at a college that developed carbs for cars that were much more efficient and Exxon bought the patent. In the 70's my dad had a friend that had a v-8 suburban that got around 40mpg while towing a trailer. Chevy tried to buy it back from the guy several times because it was an experimental motor that was not supposed to be sold. Don't try and blame a president for lack of fuel cell research, just look at the ethics of corporate america lately and tell me that it's not in the corporations best interest to stifle this type of research.
