First of all it's a 4 cylinder so the block isn't that heavy and there won't be much room to save much weight, and also, aluminum blocks don't weigh much less than cast iron blocks anyway. Even on a big V8 like the all-aluminum Chevy LS1, that block only weighs something like 80 lbs less than the old cast iron block. I hear the SR20 is pretty tough also, so it may actually be much thicker and heavier than the old 240SX engine, I'm not sure.
