a TT pump when I was making my comparisons. I didn't own the TT pump, a guy at a shop had one and he let me borrow it to check it out. It looked almost identical to the NA pump I had, and the pump gears were the same. This whole argument may be over the fact that I wasn't comparing a TT pump to an NA pump, but rather I was comparing an NA pump to an NA pump! I swear to you though, I checked this and the differences were only cosmetic. But if I didn't have a TT pump, then all of this would make perfect sense. On that note then, I have been running the NA pump in my car with the turbo setup for about 7K miles now and everything is still working with no problems. Of course, time will tell, but honestly, I drive my car quite hard so a longevity test would be very hard to use as a basis for saying whether or not the pump was at fault. I get 50-60psi of pressure in my system once the engine warms up which is well within the manufacturer's range of suitable pressure so I really dont know if it warrants a TT pump, if in fact there are differences. : Compared to some of the people on this forum but during my recent engine rebuild we replaced the oil pump due to pitting of the gears and both the old pump and the new pump looked like the pictures in the service manual. There were far more teeth on the TT pump and they were almost pointed, not like the rounded off ones in the NA picture.
