Okay, here's the deal. I made a box for my two Orion DVC 10" subs and installed them in my TT. I also bought a Punch 250 amp. I'm not getting the full sound and kick in the ass bass that I have experienced with these subs in my last box. Don't get me wrong, it will hit, especially if I throw in some rap or techno, but I usually listen to hard rock. Should I port the box? The new box is shaped a little weird to utilize the little available space in the back of the Z and still allow storage of the T tops. The previous box was shaped like your typical box you would throw in a hatch back (rectangular). Both are divided and sealed, and are approx 1.2 ft^3 per side. I have the voice coils of the subs wired in parallel resulting in a 2 ohm load. Previous amp (LA sounds Hermosa) was advertised at 120 Watts rms x 2, whereas the Punch amp test sheet stated 354 watts total rms, so 177 per channel. I've played around with the "punch bass" level and the crossover. I can only get it to hit really hard at low frequencies. I mean there's nothing majorly wrong, but the new box doesn't sound as good as the old, which will not fit with the T tops. Forgot to add that I stuffed the new box with polyester fill. Should I take it out? Any suggestions? I want to throw some Mettalica in and have trouble breathing when Lars gets on the double bass drum. TIA
