Avgas is actually quite a good fuel to run in any engine (car) that is not equiped with cats. since avgas is 100 (not 110 as stated earlier) oct. Low lead (100LL) it does quite well in high performance engines. but DO NOT run it in a car with cats. I cant say that enough times. As far as the lead qoes there are actuall quite low levels of it in avgas ( 2 mililiters per gallon to be exact). The great thing about avgas is that it is almost exactly the same no matter when or where you get it. This is because of the ultra strict regulation that surround aviation. Just in case you are wondering exactly how do I know what I am talking about, its because I have been involved in aviation for the better part of the last decade which includes accually getting paid to fly aircraft for the last two years. I hope the clears up and confusion or questions on the subject of avgas
