Hollow would be OK for a compression setup if there were 0 lateral load potential... since that's pretty much impossible, I don't see it happening. eitherway, steve at courtesy let me play with the bar (he told me it was their first one/prototype) and it didn't seem flimzy to me at all. the welds were very nice, the overall quality was right on.
