Message Open Track Challenge ([ www.opentrackchallenge.com ]) in my TTZ. Navid in his nearly stock E46 M3 kicked our butts with his new Michelin Sport Cups. He said they were 2 - 4 seconds faster than his best times on Hoosiers. In a couple of cases, those 2 - 4 seconds were the difference between his and our best laptimes. Like Salah said the A032R's that we ran were only good for a few laps and not up to the same level as the Sport Cups. Unfortunately, the Sport Cups had just come out and they didn't have the sizes I needed for my 17" race wheels. There were also some new Pirelli's that the Z06 people were running and were very happy with. They looked almost like a racing slick, but met the tire wear requirements for the event.

Btw, you might want to look into some lighter wheels. After Carl(SJ,CA) put on my CCW race wheels on his NA Z he knocked 2 seconds off his lap times at Thunderhill which is a high speed high horsepower track. When I drive my Racing Hart Street wheels and then switch to my light weight race wheels, there is a BIG difference.

For suspension, the Ground Control Advance Design Race shocks worked great with 600 lbs/in spring in the front and 400 lbs/in in the rear. I would have gone to even stiffer springs if I had time to revalve the dampers. I probably would have gone to 700 or 800 lbs in the front.

The area in which our Z's really lacked was in front end camber. I was running -2.5 degrees and we were scrubbing off a lot of speed as well as tire with -2.5. It looks like we need to be in the -3 to -4 degree region. I am looking to modify my upper arms to allow for this much adjustment.

Don't even think about running the track radials on a road course, you'll regret it.

I have so much data from the race and testing that we did that I cannot possibly put it all down here so email me if you have any specific questions on setups. Try to get some road race practice under your belt and bring a tire pyrometer to measure tire temperatures.

Btw, if Paul Mumford's Viper gets into the event, watch out. He nearly won the overall title for the Open Track Challenge on street tires and that was against some pure race cars on pure racing slicks. His Viper is sick. Rumor has it that he had 650 RWHP. Besides the car, he is a top notch driver.

What track are you running at for the event. I can probably share our setup with you if it is at Buttonwillow or one of the Willow Springs tracks.
