Message Hey guys. I touched on this before but it was lost because it wasn't in Technical seeing as it's not directly Z related (though it's for MY Z :). Anyway, I'm again looking into getting an LCD monitor for my Z. I have a few questions for those that have done it or know about it.

I am looking for some specific qualities.

Need:
-Detachable face or way to remove it easily when leaving car
-SINGLE DIN sized
-6"+ in size

What I would like:
-Built in CD
-Built in TV Tuner
-Built in Equalizer (graphical)
-As many preouts and other goodies as possible hehe

Of course, the latter are just WANTs...if I have to buy added stuff to get it, that's fine. But I don't want to be spending $1,500 ya know? So far I have seen a Pioneer and a Clarion that fit this profile. Both are around $730 in price. But BOTH will require all kinds of other additions to get TV, VCR and CD audio to them. They are nothing more than simple screens with tuners and they even need a DSP unit to use my Alpine Amps. Now, I could fork out the $500+ for the rest of the components, but is there anything that does it ALL? Or at least SOME of it?

The Alpine unit does all of it (for a LOT more money, but worth it) however it does NOT detach and :( I park outside and have religiously removed my face for years to be as safe as can be without removing the deck. Not to mention I haven't even been able to get a price quote on one yet though I know it's a lot. They Kenwood is friggen over $1,800 with all parts needed and is touch screen (blah).

So is there anything else in between that you guys know of? Or at the very least, tell me what screens/setups YOU have and if you like it or not or what you'd do differently. I'm trynig to test it all out before I buy. I've been selling stuff like MAD on ebay and it's time to splurge :)

Thanks,
Ryan
