Message But I'm fairly sure i've been more involved in the 240sx.org postings/readings than you have, considering I own a 240sx.

From what I've read the sr20de engine weighs in around 300lbs. The stock ka engine in the states is around 309 lbs, so I would think that the sr20de probably weighs in even less than 300. Putting in a much heavier engine like the VQ30 would not only disrupt the near 50/50 weight balance but really stuff the engine bay.

If you were going to put in a VQ engine, I think most people would say to use the new VQ35 engine in the S13. You could keep the car around 2600lb total with the 3.5L powerplant. You do the math, cause I'm no tech guru. I'm sure they could make that engine fit.

The RB26DETT engine I know is another definate possibility with great potential for a 240/hybrid.
