.......my drag car, a camaro, actually runs a quicker et when I leave at idle, because the converter will flash to a higher rpm at launch than it will if I power brake. But if I flash the converter it does become less consistent; the power braking gives a more predictable "stalling" action I guess??? Converters tech is pretty heavy from what I've seen.......so I can't explain why it stalls higher when flashed, but that is a common characteristic of race converters. However, in your case I don't think that flashing would make you any quicker because it would probably only give an extra couple hundred more rpms at launch, and that probably isn't enough to create any more significant amount of boost....and besides, going quicker doesn't win you races, consistency does.
