Message	I'm definitely not saying a house is a bad idea. I plan on getting one someday(probably after marriage, if that ever happens). It's a great goal to have. I have a roommate and pay $300/month in rent for a 1500 sq ft townhose with a garage. I realize I'm "throwing away" that money but right now I'm content to do that and not have to worry about an unplanned water heater purchase, or property taxes or fixing my own toilet or... I am planning on selling my car soon to buy something less expensive to fix and more reliable. Good luck with all your issues. Life's tough enough as it is without having car headaches.
