In my opinion the Ash style is the right way. There's only ONE person who really cares about your car, and that's you. A shop will cut corners if they think nobody will notice.
Doing things yourself will ensure it gets done right, give you lots of knowledge and save you TONS of money. A $15k job may only cost you $7k if you know what to get and how to put it on yourself. Don't fall into the import racer/ shop hopper mindset that many guys on here follow. Do you ever notice how badly the imports get crushed at Import vs. Domestic events? That's because most domestic guys have knowledge and they know what it takes to get the job done. If you want a slow car that costs tons of money, then maybe the "import racer" image is for you. But if you want a fast car that doesn't drain your wallet, you're going to have to do it yourself.
I'm not trying to convince you to do the conversion, because you already stated that you don't want to and I'm not going to nag you about it. I'm just saying that if you want a job done right, you have to do it yourself.
