Message	He had the engine rebuilt and either: they didn't gap the rights right and it is burning lots of oil, or the car is in need of a head-job. Unless he has a VPC/AFC or other engine management system that is running extremely off, the prior two things are your most likely explanation. Did you ask what pistons and rings he has in it? That carbon buildup is only due to oil or an intensely rich mixture.
