Message ...I know that I use my Camaro as an example, please don't hurt my feelings, I think there are some basics that are car-independent. I'd like to drag my car, but I'm too far down the road-race road....anyway.....

The single most effective change I made in my Camaro was to add airbags to the rear springs and pump up the right rear pressure. This increases the right rear spring rate and preloads the suspension, and will help keep the torque reaction of the car from unloading the left rear wheel, thus adding mucho traction. I had all the good parts and stuff, but adding the stupid-simple $60 airbags made all the difference. I felt kinda dumb.

Anyways, I'm not sure how the independent rear setup would react to such a mod - I wish I could experiment myself - but I think that the concept still applies. Preload the right rear spring to counter the cars torque reaction and increase total traction dramatically. Those of you with adjustable ride height setups could simply preload the right rear by adjusting the collar and get the exact same effect.

Someone oughta try this - I think there may be some gains waiting....
