Message Hey Lance, I have to agree with many of these people's views that your mods won't add much to the overall value of your car, unless the buyer appreciates such customization. You probably need to have quite a bit of patience to find a right buyer who is willing to pay extra for all those mods.

I suppose the reason you were flamed was that some people must have felt you were being a little bellicose in your replies. You responded to a post saying you were "not stupid" and in another, claiming someone else to be "jealous" of you. That's just not the attitude that a lot of regulars here can stomach, especially from a "newbie", as you claim yourself to be. Being humble, especially in a new place, is key to making new acquaintances.

I must state that I sincerely believe the attacks on you were overboard. As much respect as I have for the knowledge and helpfulness of many of the members here, I will not refrain from voicing my objections to some of the rather obnoxious behaviour that has been demonstrated by some of the more seasoned veterans of this board. Nixit may seem a little harsh, but that's the way he is - he shoots from the hips! Many people here have simply got used to it. However, you will find out in time that this incident is rather mild. Certainly, it's nothing compared to the one that has barely blown over just recently.

A few days ago, Atti2de was involved in a nasty spat with a moderator, Logik. In their heated exchange, Atti2de was presumably upset with the most horrible things being said about his significant other. In response to the many degrading comments being made about his partner, he mentioned that he had been nice to Logik when the latter had suffered a great loss in his family previously. I did not come across anything he had said in his reply that was in any way disparaging to the deceased. However, most people jumped on that thread and chastised him for something he did not do. The post has since been deleted and I don't know how many people here, who had missed it in the first place, have learnt about the issue based solely on hearsay.

On another post by Atti2de a couple days later, adding to all the mean things that were being uttered, Logik and Jack B. had to take a swipe at Canadians, just because one of the few dissenting voices regarding the madness that was taking place - happened to be Canadian. While others didn't share their apparent disdain for Canadians, they did escalate their attacks on Atti2de.

I personally don't know who Atti2de is, but I sincerely believe no one should be expected to put up with such viciousness being directed at one's significant other. With the exception of a rational few who were bold enough to voice their opposition to the Logik's spiteful comments, most others prefer to focus their criticism on Atti2de. I tip my hat off to joel(Pa), ZBlacktt and TARGETZ for speaking up. By the way, Joel was also helpful in offering to host pictures for a newbie. Isn't that what camaraderie among forum members is all about?

If I were shrewd, I would be taking the sides of a veteran member, especially one who is a moderator. However, I prefer to refrain from taking sides on such issues. I would much rather speak up on the nastiness that has been exhibited by numerous members on this forum. I just can't understand why there is so much vitriol in so many posts. Hopefully, people would calm down before they post any hateful messages in the heat of the moment.

I'm not really keen on external mods and neither do I have the money for them; but I do believe in the saying: to each his own. If you like it, that's all that matters. Taking good advice is one thing; but not having your own opinions will render you nothing more than a mindless follower.

I suppose you have already checked up Kelley Blue Book for a rough estimate on the worth of your car. If you still own the OEM parts, maybe you can put them back on and sell your aftermarket mods separately, like someone else had suggested earlier. That way, it's much easier to sell your car, and I don't think you would have any problem selling those custom parts later.

Good luck and cheers!
