I'm always slidin the rear out in 2nd gear when I turn at intersections etc because its fun as hell and I can't help it I'm addicted to it. But this time I was going left I did it at the top of 2nd gear like around 6000rpm instead of 3000rpm so the rear didnt spin out like it usually does and the car instead just really turned really left really fast. I countersteered the wheel as far as it could go and I was STILL heading towards the left side of the street I turned on to (its a 2 lane one way street). So at this point I'm heading straight for the curb goin about 40mph(?) so I hit the brake, the car spun a 180 and was sliding backwards at an angle. It kept sliding and sliding and I was turned around in my seat staring at the curb and telephone poll that I was headed for hoping the car would eventually stop sliding and stop in time. Well, it didn't. The rear wheel bumped into the curb causing the car to sort of park itself on the side of the street. So I'm facing the wrong way on the street and as I start to drive away I notice the steering wheel is crooked and right rear wheel has a major wobble. Luckily this was 1 block away from home so I didn't have to drive very far at 10mph. No dents to the body except a small shopping cart style dent rear fender above rear wheel where the telephone poll was. The wheel is warped too. I can't believe how easily this part of the car got so seriously fucked. I almost stopped in time and it was a light impact bump. The body shop guy took a look at it and said it may be too expensive to fix and may not even be worth it! Iow A total loss! I'm like WTF! For a wobbly wheel!?@# SO now the heavy weight of this car becomes so very apparent. The car will fool you into thinking its light the way it hugs a turn so tight. But once you break traction the thing will slide like its in the icecapades. I almost shed a tear. I always felt like this was going to happen eventually and that I deserved it because EVERY time I get in this car I drive it like a wild banshee (360's in the middle of huge intersections, powerslides everywhere I go, girlfriend slappin me yellin at me calling me a fuckin asshole and let me out of the car now etc). So can anyone tell me what parts are most likely involved to fix something like that? And what a good price and where to get them (like salvage etc)?
