Message r has a higher mass and thus more inertia than that of a smaller injector. Because of this, there is an increased dead time (time it takes for injector to go between opened and closed states), and during this dead time, fuel is flowing. This "wasted" fuel will decrease fuel economy. However, this is probably a small percentage and no dramatic decreases are likely to be noticed.
