: was it expensive compared to buying a performance car and upgrading it like the 300zxtt? just curious. i'm looking for a new project, thought a kit car might be fun. not right now of course, but maybe start this summer. anyone? Beuller? hehehe. just wondered, if you have, if you had any good tips and places to start looking. is it easier to get a rolling chassis? how difficult is it to build one? easy enough to be done by a novice with just instructions? TIA not especially designed for the common novice. not by any stretch of the imagination. Some companies sell semi prefabbed kits...you get the chassis, and the body, already done. but then you get to buy and install fuel (ALL of it), engine (ALL of it), tranny (ALL of it), brakes (ALL of it), cooling (ALL of it), etc...etc...trust me, the list seems long, but it's actually longer. and you have to be pretty tricky about fabbing things from metal/tubing/plastics, etc... it'd be a great project if you were retired and had some money... these are my thoughts...and come from an empty mind.
