sorry no pics this time but i'll try to post as many details as I can remember... Zhound ran his best ever of 11.7@127 MPH? (please correct me if im wrong zo) im confident he could have gone much faster today, but the track officials threatened to ban him from the track if he ran into 11's again because he doesnt have a roll cage yet. so he turned down the boost and ran several low 12 second passes just for fun. Mike (La Canada) never ceases to amaze us with his awesome driving. he nailed an amazing 1.81 sixty foot! now let me see anyone else pull that off in a 300ZX on 225 wide drag radials! from the looks of it he was on his way to a 12.3? but he missed 3rd gear and hit 12.8 at 110 MPH. =( still... quite impressive for a stage 4 1996 300ZX wouldnt you say? my story is very bittersweet. I ran my personal best today too. 12.003@123 MPH. 3 thousandths of a second robbed me from my first 11 second pass! i couldnt believe it. its my fault though. i goofed and spun the tires all the way through first gear which resulted in a sorry 2.18 sixty foot. what made it worse is that I even hit the rev limiter in 4th gear. that was my first time going that fast, so I didnt realize I needed to shift into 5th! I felt so lame. oh well. next time... here is my timeslip. im car #47, Mike (LaCanada) is car #59.
SteamyZ was with us too but he was having some problems. He found oil coated all over the insides of the intercooler pipes after a couple of runs. we're not sure whats causing it but it was very clear that that much oil is not a good thing. lets hope its nothing big. overall, a fun and productive day. hopefully, more of you other so cal guys will join us next time.
