First off, let me start off by saying that I enjoyed your article you wrote a while back. It has an amazing parallel to my life story in regards to the 300ZX, and in fact I wrote an article a few months back for my local Z Club's newsletter (its about 4-5 pages in MS Word), which I'd be willing to forward to you someday if you wanted to read it or cared. However, what I notice is your use of the word "recognition". A while ago when you posted about your article that was getting published (in either a magazine or on a webpage.. I forget), you made a comment somwhere along the lines of "I'm finally getting the recognition I deserve". And then even in this post you just made, you used the word again "positive feedback (recognition)". (never mind the fact for now that positive feedback and recognition are not exactly the same thing). Your preoccupation with RECOGNITION I think comes off negatively. It should not be something you should be actively seeking. If you end up getting some recognition, great! But the way you've been communicating lately, it sounds like that's your motive. If you are a true Z enthusiast, as I think you are, everything you've done should be first and foremost for yourself. Another thing that probably annoys some people on tt.net, myself included, is the weekly posts by people on things like "hmmm... should I get the HKS 2530 turbos... or the Greddy TD05s?"... Ahem, that's a $4000-$5000 decision! The way those kind of questions are casually thrown around here, it really does seem sometimes like people have too much money burning a hole in their pockets. I think the people that really are serious about spending that much cash on an important purchase like a turbo upgrade should be doing serious research, talking to experts, and should already have an idea which way they want to go. The blatant posting like that on tt.net is like FLAUNTING it in everyone's face. The average forum member here probably could never dream of going for such flashy, high-ticket items like that. Perhaps Wagz you just need to reduce the number of "look at me!!" or the "look what I'm buying this week!" type of posts, which seem to pop up a lot. I'm not knocking you, just trying to share some observations. I don't want to discourage your enthusiasm for the Z or your willingness to help other Z owners. But in regards to your Z project, keep up the good work bro!
