Message	for flow volume to have the smallest ratio of surface contact per area (crossection). viscosity and the no slip boundary condition impede the fluids' travel. since the surface area is linearly related to radius and area is a quadratic, then it is better to have a larger pipe. fluids travel fastest in the center of the pipe.
