Argumentation should be more descriptive than prescriptive. If you're going to write anything credible about an issue (in this case street racing) it's not a good idea to say "X is good because A, B, and C." This would be more of an opinion and not an argument (another person could say it is bad for exactly that reason). If I were you I would do a critical analysis of WHY the phenomenon of street racing is present in our culture. Thus you are looking deeper into the causes which make it important in our culture. You could say that "racing is a form of masculine competition in modern society." You could argue many reasons for why STREET RACING is the phenomena that occurs due to masculine competition (the move to commuter culture, the move to a more technical culture, the move to a more danger-loving x-game xtreme culture, the move to a more money-loving culture, etc.) You can also argue it in a biosocial sort of way. Women are attracted to money in our culture, the car is a status symbol, we are merely peacocks trying to attract other mates by showing off our feathers (you can argue this by saying that fast cars are almost always associate with sexy women and that's why there's always asian chix at car shows). There's a lot you can say. Fuck, I wrote a lot, sorry. I'm gonna email this to you because if you don't see it, then I feel like 10 minutes of my life is wasted. If you want to run any more ideas by me feel free. Oh, and I might come to Z day at your place next saturday, do you have a car lift? I want to install exhaust and subframe spacers since I just got my car back from the shop. Thanks =]
