Message Okay okay, please don't accuse me of heresy. I am beginning to lust after Porsche 968's. (a 993 911 would be better but I can't afford it).

I have a Stage IV/V+ TT, so I know the 968 won't be as fast.

I'm going to test drive one tomorrw. I can afford a pristine 944 or a clean 968, but I'd have to sell the Z to do it.

Does anyone have experience with the Porsches? Care to speak to the differences?

I drove a 993 911 once and I was very impressed with its handling - the steering felt like it was more direct and had better feedback than the Z.

Also, I find it so hard to fall in love with Japanese cars. I know it's a cliche, but to me, they lack soul. The TT has more soul than my old Supra Turbo did, but it still lacks that certain something that I find in German cars.

And don't mention the 350Z as a better handling, more true sports car option, because after taxes it will be at least $30K and I can only spend $20, so it's not an option right now.
