Where are people getting their HP figures from? I've seen 240, 260, 280 and onwards. This for a car that in every test has put down disappointing straight line performance with a simple promise that somehow somewhere nissan is going to magically find a bunc hfo hp.Fact....NOBODY knows how much hp that car will have. In practice, the HP it's getting out in the Maxima probably isn't far from its peak. I wouldn't expect the peak hp figures to budge much higher than 260 with the emissions regulations it has to face. Saying there's going to be turbo'd or supercharged versions of the car is pure speculation by people who think they heard someting from someone who thinks they know someone that might work for Nissan. If there was a version of the car that might do 0-60 nearly as fast as a 911 or Vette you'd be hearing about it already. The C5 vette (even excluding hte Z06) will be the performance leader on American shores for a long time, the Z will not come close to its performance numbers, perf- ormance to dollar ratio, or how it looks. On the other hand, my TT runs with a C5 already and if I bought some brakes and bigger wheels would do adequately on a road course. Oh well....my TT and my M3(my future daily driver someday) will both absolutely destroy the 350Z and that'll make me smile. I'm sick of slow cars that try to pretend to be fast, thus one reason I laughed like a schoolgirl when I completely embarassed the RSX last night and the WRX a few weeks before. Just like the S2000s that barely crack the 14 second mark, the WRX that is suprisingly slower than the magazines want you to believe, the RXS which is blah....the 350Z will probably be a pitiful little car that gets bullied by cars a decade older.
