: Any of my questions concerning the right way to decide If a FMIC will work better than side mounts with TD05's. : I have hit from the cfm angle, the core design angle, the core size angle, the location angle, etc. etc. If you have any helpful info by all means let me in on it. Sorry, I can only give you my personal opinion on what i've heard. =) But here goes. The problem with having side mounts would be getting the proper airflow over the front of the IC's to be able to properly cool down the charge. Most aftermarket fronts do allow for more airflow... like the stillen kit. Also they have the air guides to guide air over the entire IC which would be beneficial. If you did go for side mounts it would be a good idea to get the vented inserts behind the IC's to all They were on the 89-90TT. It allows air to be removed also. Having a frontmounted intercooler would be pretty cool, and for it looks great! But I would think that having the intercooler in front of the radiator might make for a potential problem, especially if you are doing some road racing. You could do more to then alleviate that problem by replacing the radiator hoses, HOWE radiator, and also there's some stuff you can do to the block also. So in summation, sidemount would be great but won't look as cool. Front Mount looks great, but are we sure that it won't allow sufficient cooling of the engine bay? Again, this is my personal opinion from what I've heard and my own judgement. Hope it helps! Plus 1000 extra cash is helpful!
