slick. Shot peening anctually strengthens the rods and if you have them massaged (smoothed) they get even stronger. Stock rods are on the light side as it is....and if your not road racing....its not much of a gain for $500. The piston info was good....I forgot about that angle...swain coating will take care of the heat....id do the same to the heads. But its $$$$$$$$$$$$ Swain is not cheap....if you safe your money on the rods it should pay for it.
