Message	was a "one mile" race. It had to be. Did you read the article "Racer X" on the DVD that inspired the movie? They talked about racing a whole mile, not just the 1/4 mile. If you think about all the little events you saw during that 4-car race you saw in the movie, that's the only way it *kinda* made sense. Just look at the speeds they got up to. No way those cars were hitting ~150-160 mph in the 1/4. : took a bit too long... : and they make it look like every car out there is a 10 second car. I know 10s is fast probably not how fast it really is but I do know that the rx-7 and the poopra probably could pull it off but most of the others there cant hang...
