Anyone else get sick of this besides me? None the less... RX-7's are much lighter than the Z and also have much lower geared differential. They accelerate a hair faster because of it. ( A few tenths of a second stock to stock.) They also handle and stop better. But... find me a third gen rx-7 on the orginal motor and I'll show you a motor in need of rebuilding. The rotary motor is an incredible little power plant, but it does sacrifice long term reliability. My apologies to all the rotor heads, but it's the truth. If I could afford two cars, I'd consider one. :)
