Message I picked up my 96TT last Friday from the dealer with a new tranny, new stock clutch assembly and JUN flywheel. Life was good. Only noticable things that made me go hmmm were a lighter pedal effort and an pedal engagement point far closer to the firewall than the old stuff.

Two hours later while accelerating at a very low boost level, the clutch totally let go in 3rd. And man did it smell! I babied it home and called the dealer. They said to keep driving it for a couple hundred miles and get back to them. In the meantime, my wife has said it's slipped on her a couple times earlier this week.

This afternoon I went out with a purpose. If it slipped, it was going straight to the dealer. I accelerated at full boost in 2nd, 3rd, 4th and whapped it into 5th at about 6,000rpm and stood on it. NO slippage at all. I repeated these runs two more times with no problems. Fortunately the school zone I was in has mild speed bumps and really fast children. ;-)

I still have the mild pedal effort and the engagement point seems low on the pedal. Could there still be a problem, or should I just say fuggit and get on with enjoying my new hardware? I can give the word and the dealer will pull everything apart for inspection and replace the clutch stuff if I want, but I'm not sure these symptoms aren't a product of the different flywheel spacing. What would you do?
