My Z is a wreck as far as the rear is concerned. Read on.. Just decided to go a for a short ride after lunch in my 1990 NA as it was nice and foggy outside with a slight drizzle. There is a small section of curvy road with dense foliage on either side..driving there gives a very good feeling especially in a little fog/rain. Anyways, I was taking it nice and slow on the curves when the road straightened out for a bit and I didnt see any one in front of or behind me so I stepped on it a little....
Next thing I know is I am wiping out..making a 180 with my rear slamming up against a pine tree..OH SHIT!!..and bounced off it.
I pull over in a nearby parking lot to examine the damage..I think its done!! The rear took it a hit almost in the center, moving about a half feet inwards, and the rear bumper is totally screwed up with both right and left sides ripped off.
Lower end of the hatch is messed up..obviously it doent close now. Fuel tank had a slight dent..thankfully it didn't leak. All electricals are ok though..surprisingly. As for me I am ok..at least physically; mentally, even I am a wreck, since I was to blame for the entire thing..worst part is that with no collision coverage that is gonna be a big hit for me :-( Will try to post some pics tomorrow..probably you guys can give me some idea as to whether it can be fixed, how much would it cost, what are other options worst comes worst. Thanks for hearing me out!
