I think Chris might have lucked out like me. About a year ago I was written up for doing 90 in a 40 on a city street, well over the limit. However, since he wrote up the ticket under 22350 (basic speed law) and not 22348/22349 (excessive speed) the 20mph over rule does not apply. Even though it is apparent that excessive speed was present, the 22350 minimizes the harshness of the punishment. Not 100% sure, but even the officer that gave me the ticket told me that i was still going to be able to go to Traffic School. I still paid a ticket of over $300.00 but was still able to do traffic school. I definitely used 8 of my 9 lives up on this one.
