And no, I'm not threated by it by owning a Z32TT. I've run with them at the track. I have friends who have them. They aren't high 13s 1/4 miles cars, try low 14s. And they still flex too much since they are convertables. The S is still a slug down low (not enough torque) and the engines are way overstrung (you just can't go too much further with it). The non S is just for flash (a chic car). They are nice, but not in direct comparison to a Z32TT. Maybe a 350z, but then again, that isn't anything special or exotic, the Z32 was/still is. Need I remind every one that the Z32TT was as fast of the Ferrari Testtarossas and 911 of Turbos of its hey day and faster than the Ferrari 348tb! It also blows past the NSX and the 3rd gen Rx7 (although the 7 is more tossable, doesn't equate to dominating better handling) and in speed, it is driver dependent against a Poopra (the Toyota replica car in cow's clothing, but I still think it isn't that bad of a looking cow. Remeber this is for everyday people, ie Jack B.). The Z32TT is also an excellent car for the track (regardless what those who have never been on a track say, if you haven't you can't back up your claims) and with minimal freshening (springs, brakes, and a chip), is even more so (and better than what else is out there for $100k+). The only real respectable contender near the cars worth is the RX7, and it is easier to drive in a track setting due to its balance and weight. The Z32 is equally competent, but takes a more skilled driver to gracefully carry its techno-brash weight. The NSX is great, but understeers and drifts too much in its stock form. Once the car is setup, then it is a marval. But why not setup a different car then? Especially when it can be done cheaper (and doens't need to be a Honduh)? The supra isn't bad, but it is too big (distribution of size). It feels bloated, and it is easiest to build up relatively speaking. But then again, a little more effort and $$$ and you can build up the other turbo japanese car that you prefer to go fast in a boring straight line. The Z and 7 are the best track cars. Both in their own way. The 7 is more nimble, the Z more composed and stable. I depends on your line and agressive you are. You can gut the Z, but you aren't going to feed the 7. Imagine which car is more fun when the weight issue is thrown out. The Z32 is very even against brand new 911s (2nd gen 996s). You need stage III+ to keep up with the 911 turbo, but you don't need a suspension to to handle with it. There are a lot of claims being made with no substance. Hell, all we need is better rubber than the shit from the factory, and seriously, watch Vipers cry in the turns (Then get ready to be blown past on the straight, they are fast until they overheat) Get on the track where it counts and then form your opinions. I have.
