Message End all... I don't think too many people will object to this, hopefully. Ok... Any modification you make to your Z to bring out more power may impact the life of the motor... Everytime you increase the power above the factory rated specs, you slowly shorten the life of the motor. The more drastic the increase, the more drastic the possibility of shortening the life of the motor. If you gut the cats, you gain a few HP, but you could possibly run into issues (no idea what, other than an enviromentalist with a bat), if you put NOS on your Z, you get a HUGE gain, but could also blow your car up!. Put larger turbos on, huge increase, put more possibility for detonation and other issues... Now I may not be 100% correct with some of my statements above (I know I don't know everything, and I do not try and preech like I do) but I think everyone can come to the concensus that if you modify your car (whatever it is) to gain horsepower, your slowly shortening the life of the motor in most instances. If really boils down to whether or not you want to gamble with how much longer the motor has. In some cases, such as JRH(KY) and his friend, they're motors went within roughly 20k miles after installing their underdrive pulley, which could or could not be the culprit. Others are doing fine with it after a lot more mileage than that (i.e. SeedyRom). Now MY motor had almost NO modifications prior to my purchase of the vehicle, only a pop charger, and IT had already spun a rod bearing by 82k miles when I bought it!! So.... I'm not going to tell anyone to get something or not to get something... But I'll give this warning. Everytime you mod your Z, you are slowly shortening the engine life, whatever the power mod may be... If you want the power, and you can deal with that fact that the motor MAY die prematurely, then feel free, mod away. I personally like the results of all my mods and would recommend any of them to any Z owner. But that's my $0.02 and I think I've said enough... =)

Peace,
KaZ
