Message	look below, it was for a supra, idiot ;) Anyway to answer the question, a six speed is advantagous only in that the there is more "gearing options". In other words, the extra gear allows you to space the gears a little closer (to help stay in the powerband a little better) and still have a tall enough (6th) gear for OD.
