My understanding of traction control is that it limits the loss of traction to the rear tires by reducing the power transferred to the wheel/tire that is spinning. This reduces the car's ability to launch hard. Again, my understanding(or maybe misunderstanding) is that when drag racing, the traction control is turned off. If the Corvette was a good launching car, the LS1 would run a better 1/4 mile than low 13s at trap speeds of around 110mph.
