tell about the lag... just sitting in the passenger seat, you feel the power upstroke, and it feels great... but, when you're actually driving, then you can really tell if there's lag or not because you push the gas and nothing happens for like 2 seconds. i'm defining lag here as the amount of time/rpm it takes for the boost to really come on strong (so, from like 0psi-5psi would be what i would call lag, and then from 5psi on up is when the turbos really kick in). if you want to just talk about spool up time from that 5psi point, then i would agree that the 600s or really any turbo would "spool" just like stock from that point up, but below 3-5psi, there's not much going on. if you get a chance to ride in his car again, ask him to drive about 20mph, then floor it in third gear, watch the boost guage and take note of what rpm 0psi comes at and what rpm 5psi comes at.
